I see everything through the lens of great storytelling.

You can take the journalist out of the newsroom, but you can't take the newsroom out of the journalist. You'll always find me chasing a great story.

The difference? Gone are the days of pulling together a script with three minutes to spare, hunting down sources by phone, and standing outside in a blizzard while reporting on the storm of the century.

Like so many journos (as we so affectionately call ourselves), I left that world behind to put my storytelling skills to better use.

Now I help businesses and executives tell their stories and provide valuable content for their audiences. In turn, freelance writing has provided me the freedom to be at home with my two young children (fun fact: we homeschool!).

My Story

  • Completed my Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON (2007)

  • Worked as a television reporter/producer for CBC Edmonton and CityTV Edmonton ('06-'10) (Here's my old demo reel because throwbacks are fun)

  • Shot, directed, and edited an award-winning short documentary titled Grace -a young girls' struggle to provide for her family and life herself out of poverty through education. The film appeared in 12 film festivals worldwide.

  • Chose to become a stay-at-home mom to my kids after my maternity leave ended. I did run a photography and dance teaching business for a while - but coincidently, my favourite part was always writing the website!

  • Started a freelance copywriting business in 2020 to allow for the flexibility to focus on my family and work to build a career. I reached Top Rated Plus status on Upwork within 12 months, an achievement only reached by 1 per cent of freelancers on the platform.

  • My clients have come from all over the world including Australia, France, the United States, and Canada.

How will our stories collide?
